The Technology of Good Intentions
This is a collection of handmade electronic devices that explored the role of failure in design. It exposes the irony that failure is always a precursor to successful design. The exhibition in September 2013 at the Anna Leonowens Gallery, NSCAD University was a practical investigation of the creative process that examined the annulment of an object's original utility due to a “fatal flaw” in concept, understanding or execution — the point at which rationality breaks down and new thought emerges.
